Building Better Communities

Our commitment beyond the project

Supporting regional communities does not stop at project delivery. Wherever practical, we buy local, use regional suppliers and support the events and initiatives that bring communities together. It is one way we contribute to the places that support our teams and our work.

Supporting regional economies through local spend

Where we spend matters. Wherever practical, SHEPHERD chooses regional suppliers and service providers so more of the value created by our work stays within the communities supporting our projects.

Tracked in direct local project spend across regional communities 2024–2026 (Q1)

Local spend in action: Cassowary Coast

In 2024, SHEPHERD recorded just over $1M in local project spend in the Cassowary Coast region. This included purchasing fleet vehicles and having them fitted out through suppliers within the region.

It is a practical example of choosing local where we can—and creating value around a project as well as delivering the work itself.

Backing the events that bring people together

From local shows and sporting events to outback gatherings and regional student initiatives, we are proud to support occasions that bring people together and celebrate the communities where we work.

On the ground in the communities we work in

SHEPHERD is headquartered on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, with project offices in Thargomindah, Cunnamulla and Wongaling Beach.

These locations form part of our on-the-ground presence in the regions where we work.
